Leichhardt Library has recently upgraded our operating system to Aurora and we have leaped into the 21st century! One area which has moved leaps and bounds is Inter-Library Loans, and now we offer a paperless service to our clients. Join us for an informative session on how we went from a slow and time consuming system to a new & innovative electronic system for ILL.
Where once everything was written on paper, it is now typed directly into the system and sent on its way within minutes via email. Clients are now amazed at our turnaround times. We will take you through the process of an electronic ILL and show you how life has become so much simpler.
Some of the key points in the Aurora ILL parameter are highlighted below.
• Central & Interbranch libraries are able to place requests using an ILL online suggestion form.
• Send ILL request to other libraries electronically via LMS (Library Management System), and keep records of email history within the system
• ILL fees and charges as well as email notes will automatically be transmitted and transferred onto borrower’s card when ILL is actioned.
• Able to collect statistics electronically anytime
• Able to choose date dues, renew, progress reports, change destinations for ILL...etc ..online.
• Able to track requests over a one-month period at central and branch and external libraries.
• Information Staff able to Initiate ILL Requests
Using a power point presentation, we will take you through the steps and show you how easy and fast it is to process ILLs requests and how it is all integrates. Almost everything you can think of within the ILL service is now processed online. We will discuss the how the module was developed with the programmers to meet public library needs and how this major change we was managed.
